Dear colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to this conference on liver and pancreatic injuries, organized by the Al-Adan Hospital Surgical Department.This conference will be held on 23rd and 24th of November2009 from 4-9pm at Al-Andalus ballroom, Crowne Plazahotel, Farawaniya.
The primary goal of this conference is to highlight the problems associated with the management of liver and pancreatic injuries, how to deal with them effectively and efficiently, and how to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with their injuries for the benefit of our patients.
This conference is targeted toward residents, staff and doctors from various specialties who are involved in the management of this difficult problem.
We have invited two distinguished international speakers from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA: Dr. T. Scalea, Professor of Trauma Surgery and Director of the Program in Trauma, and Dr. K. Shanmuganthan, Professor of Trauma Radiology in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. I am grateful to them for accepting my invitation to deliver lectures at this conference. I am also grateful to the local faculty who are experienced in this field, and who have agreed to participate actively and share their experience during this conference.
The members of the scientific committee have organized a well-rounded program with various topics and difficult issues related to pancreatic and liver injuries.
